ADTRAN Real Solutions: Retail Brochure Secure Networking Solutions for the Retail Industry Demystifying the Payment Card Industry POS Connectivity and Secure Wireless Deployment Secure Back-office Connectivity Secure Communications Secure Internet Access Secure Wireless Networking | In these economic times, retailers have to be strategic in IT Spending. They are considering long term investments by investing more in capital expenditures with their IT dollars to ultimately increase the overall customer experience, prevent loss, and obtain and maintain PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliancy. ADTRAN, a value leader, provides solid, networking and security appliances that aid retailers in increasing the overall customer experience and adhering to PCI standards for networking hardware.
The Payment Card Industry standard is designed to protect credit card data as it transverses the merchant's network. The specific component of the credit card data that must be protected is the PAN (primary account number) and sensitive authentication data printed on or stored in a magnetic stripe or chip on the credit card or debit card. This information may be used by the hacker to create duplicate credit cards. Security breaches are real. Merchants have paid upwards of $200 million dollars to recover from security breaches. According to the PCI Standards Security Council, all security breaches were preventable if the merchants were PCI compliant. PCI Standards and Requirements Comprised of American Express, Discover FInancial Services, JCB International, MasterCard WOrldwide, and Visa Inc., the PCI Security Standards Council determines and continues to evaluate the requirements of the standards: PCI Data Security Standard, Payment Application Data Security Standard, and PIN Entry Device Security Standard. In protecting the scope of the data networking, ADTRAN's solutions fall under the requirements of the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DDS) which is designed to protect the scope of the cardholder data network.
ADTRAN offers robust firewalls to segment cardholder data from the rest of the network and limits the scope of the PCI footprint. The VPN capabilities built into ADTRAN's routing solutions encrypt and protect cardholder data as it transverses the network. Ideal for the small coffee-shop, to mid-size distributed restaurant network, to the large enterprise discount store chain, ADTRAN's cost-effective, business-class data networking solutions are already successfully deployed in many PCI Compliant networks today. |
